Guillaume Boutard is an associate professor at École de bibliothéconomie et des sciences de l’information (Ebsi) – Université de Montréal (UdeM).
After studying geophysics and computer science, he worked at Institut de Recherche et Coordination Acoustique / Musique (IRCAM) as an engineer from 2001 to 2009. In 2009, he began a PhD in information science at McGill university (SIS), followed by a postdoc at Faculté de musique – UdeM (Laboratory LRGM) from 2013 to 2015. After a first position as an assistant professor at SUNY Buffalo (DIS) from 2015 to 2017, he joined Université de Montréal.
His subjects of research cover the documentation of creative processes as well as digital preservation. His objects of research include electroacoustic, mixed music, and sound art.
